The church often shames rape victims or pushes forgiveness etc. I remember at a church play I was in years ago, one character had a absent father who was abusive and it was mentioned that he raped the character and his sister and the character was angry and acted aggressive, not wanting God etc, I feel that’s stereotypical, yes some rape victims may act that way, but not all, after my rape I wasn’t angry or aggressive I simply wanted love by any means, I didn’t reject God, I thought he was angry at me, I believed I had sinned, in the play the character had got left behind, it was a rapture play, but again let’s not punish people who need Gods love, compassion, mercy etc, the church gotta do better for rape victims, don’t scare rape victims into repentance or quick forgiveness of their perpetrator! Rape is not something one needs to repent of, the responsibility and accountability is on the perpetrator period, and God cares about rape victims, I’m so glad that God is not like what church plays and movies often portray him as! Amen!
