Why I Write About the Tough Stuff
- Posted on February 17, 2026
Some people have called my book “too much” or “too touchy.” And I get it — the topics aren’t easy. But here’s the thing: sometimes the truth needs to be uncomfortable.
Think of it like a doctor calling you with test results. Maybe your iron or vitamin D is low. (This is me) one time my doctor even delivered news that I had a yeast infection. The news isn’t fun, and it might make you worry. But the doctor doesn’t sugarcoat it. They tell you because awareness is power — because now you can protect yourself, make changes, and prevent harm.
That’s exactly what my book does. It shines a light on the realities that many avoid talking about. It’s not meant to scare you, shame you, or make you feel unsafe. It’s meant to inform, to awaken, and to give readers the chance to see the truth before it catches them off guard.
I believe people deserve to know. To see. To understand. Because awareness is the first step toward healing and growth.
Tough topics don’t make a story harmful — silence does. When my doctor delivered me the news to me, what was I going to do? argue with him? Try to get him fired for telling me the truth? He’s a doctor who’s been doing this for years so he has knowledge on diseases and ailments, same with me, I’m a author and I’ve lived through rape, so I know and recognize what it is!
