“The Flying Bed”

  • Posted on April 1, 2026

When I was around nine or ten, I kept having the same dream: my bed would lift off the ground and start flying. I never knew where it was going. I would feel scared, and instinctively, I’d close my eyes, hoping it would all be okay.

But no matter how uncertain the journey felt, my bed always landed in the same place—a big, beautiful, sparkly room. I didn’t understand it at the time. I didn’t know why I had to fly through the unknown. I just knew that, somehow, I would end up somewhere amazing.

Looking back now, I realize the dream was showing me something important: even when life feels uncertain or scary, even when I can’t see the path ahead, I’m being guided to something greater. That sparkly room—that place of fulfillment, creativity, and purpose—was a glimpse of the life I would one day live as an author.

Sometimes, the journey requires closing your eyes, trusting the ride, and believing that you’re being carried exactly where you’re supposed to go. Funny as an author I don’t even have to leave my bed for work, my work travels while I’m in bed, maybe the dream was hinting at that! Wow!
