“Smart mouth”
It’s no secret we’ve all heard this phrase in our lives, many of us as children maybe got told by our parents or teachers to not have a smart mouth or got punished for having a smart mouth. However I am talking about a smart mouth in a different context. We as believers should have a smart mouth in the sense that we should be smart with what we say because words have so much power that we often don’t realize. We should use our mouth to be smart in this life by speaking life daily, by boldly declaring God’s promises daily and by praying in the spirit. The Bible stalks about foolish talk. It’s foolish to speak words that don’t add life, it’s foolish to speak doubt, lack and fear. It’s foolish to speak negatively about ourselves. A smart mouth knows to say the right things. We ought to speak as God does, we are to glorify him in everything we do including our words that come out of our mouths. Use your mouth to be smart. Also only be around those who are speaking smart as well. Also know this, everyone isn’t qualified to speak over you, many times people speak foolishness and even death into our lives.
Ephesians 5:4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
Luke 19:40 40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
