January 1, 1992… my parents had no idea I would be joining them later that year.
Doctors believed my mom wouldn’t be able to safely have more children, so naturally, there probably wasn’t any expectation for something new. It was just another New Year—celebrating, stepping into what they thought would be another year like the last.
But what they didn’t know… was that they had already stepped into a promise.
This reminds me that so many times in life, we get comfortable. We stop expecting. We assume things will stay the same because they always have. We go through the motions, not realizing that something life-changing could already be in motion.
On that day, they didn’t know my name, my face, or my voice… but I was already on the way.
That’s how blessings can be.
You can be “just living,” just celebrating, just existing—and at the same time, something powerful is unfolding behind the scenes.
So don’t lose expectation.
Don’t assume “this is just how it is.”
Because you never know—
you might already be stepping into something that will change everything.
