The backlash around my book doesn’t surprise me. I’ve been misunderstood my whole life — so this isn’t new territory.

For a long time, I thought being misunderstood meant I needed to explain myself better. Now I know sometimes people misunderstand you because your truth makes them uncomfortable.

I didn’t write my book to be easy to digest or to please everyone. I wrote it to be honest. Honest work creates reactions — and not all of them will be comfortable.

Backlash doesn’t erase my voice. If anything, it proves the words landed somewhere real.

I’m not here to be perfectly understood by everyone. I’m here to tell the truth — and to keep speaking anyway.
