It’s important to understand the difference between glorifying something and testifying about it.

  • Posted on April 2, 2026

When Jackie Hill Perry shares her past, she’s not glorifying homosexuality—she’s sharing her testimony so others who feel bound can find freedom, truth, and hope.

And it’s the same for me.

When I speak about rape, I’m not glorifying what happened. There is nothing beautiful about trauma, violation, or pain. I’m speaking because:
• Silence keeps people in bondage
• Truth brings things into the light
• And someone out there needs to know they are not alone

My story is not about what was done to me—it’s about surviving it, healing from it, and helping others do the same.

Testimonies aren’t meant to make people comfortable—they’re meant to make people free.

If my voice helps even one person feel seen, heard, or validated, then it’s worth it.

This isn’t glorification.
This is freedom.
