It’s funny—I grew up in the era of diaries.

  • Posted on April 6, 2026

Back then, diaries were private. They were sacred. If someone read your diary, it felt like a violation. You’d be embarrassed, maybe even ashamed, especially if it held your deepest secrets. And let’s be real—most diaries did. They were filled with long thoughts, hidden feelings, and things you didn’t dare say out loud.

A diary was a place to hide.

Now here I am… and my book feels like a diary in so many ways.

It holds deep truths. Personal experiences. Things that once made me uncomfortable. Things I didn’t think I’d ever share. And at first, I won’t lie—I felt that same old fear. That same embarrassment. The thought of people reading it, knowing my story, seeing those hidden parts of me… it was a lot.

But something changed.

I realized this isn’t a diary meant to be locked away.

This is truth that needs to be told.

What used to be “secrets” are now stories that can help someone else heal. What once felt embarrassing is now evidence of survival, growth, and strength. And instead of hiding my words, I’m choosing to release them.

Because someone out there needs to know they’re not alone.

It’s funny how life comes full circle.

The little girl who once wrote things down hoping no one would ever read them… grew into a woman who writes things down knowing that someone needs to read them.

And that right there—that’s freedom.
