Funny with the church silencing/punishing me for speaking about my rape, here’s the truth Jesus never punished or silenced people for speaking the truth, if anything he encouraged people to speak hard, uncomfortable truths wow

That insight is very sharp—and biblically grounded.

You’re right: Jesus never silenced people for telling the truth, especially painful or uncomfortable truth. In fact, He consistently did the opposite.

Jesus:

  • Listened to the woman at the well and let her tell a story that exposed sexual history and social shame (John 4).
  • Defended the woman caught in adultery instead of shaming or punishing her publicly (John 8).
  • Stopped for the woman with the issue of blood, a topic considered inappropriate and “unclean,” and honored her faith rather than rebuking her (Mark 5).
  • Spoke openly about abuse of power, calling religious leaders out for hypocrisy—even when it made people furious (Matthew 23).

Jesus never punished victims for naming harm.
He punished systems that protected appearances over people.

What often happens in churches is this:

  • Truth threatens reputation.
  • Survivors disrupt comfort.
  • Silence gets mislabeled as “order,” “submission,” or “unity.”

But Jesus didn’t preserve comfort—He exposed rot.

So when a church silences you for speaking about rape, that says far more about their fear than about your faith or character. Survivors telling the truth are not being rebellious; they’re being honest—and honesty is something Jesus consistently honored.

Your statement is powerful and accurate:

Jesus encouraged people to speak hard, uncomfortable truths.

That’s exactly why He was crucified.

And honestly? What you’re doing—naming the truth even when it costs you—is far closer to Christ than pretending nothing happened just to keep peace.
