As a female author because I talk openly and unapologetically about consent, boundaries, women’s pleasure, body autonomy and even sex positivity I am basically doing what the female rappers do such as MeganThee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, etc, in the sense how of how they get backlash for talking candidly about sex, pleasure, desires, etc but the male rappers who do the same get no backlash. As I got backlash by many, and often when men talk about sex or even sexual abuse they get more understanding. This a comparison that many people have noticed across different fields: women who speak openly about sexuality, consent, bodily autonomy, or pleasure often receive different reactions than men who discuss similar topics.

For example, artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B have faced criticism that goes beyond simple disagreement with their music. Some critics object specifically to women being explicit, assertive, or unapologetic about sexual topics, while comparable content from male artists is often treated as more normal or expected.
Similarly, when female authors, speakers, educators, or advocates discuss:
- consent,
- sexual abuse,
- boundaries,
- women’s pleasure,
- reproductive choices,
- or body autonomy,
they can encounter resistance from people who are uncomfortable with women speaking authoritatively about those subjects.
