🌍 I Used My Voice Too
The other day I sat and thought about all the people who came before me.
The ones who created the cartoons.
The sitcoms.
The hit songs.
The characters we still quote today.
Somewhere, at some point, someone had an idea.
And they had to decide whether to keep it to themselves… or release it into the world.
🎬 Looney Tunes think about this.
Before Looney Tunes became a legacy…
Before Bugs Bunny became iconic…
Before generations grew up laughing…
It was just an idea.
Created by bold minds like Tex Avery and Chuck Jones who trusted their creativity enough to share it.
They didn’t know it would last forever.
They didn’t know it would shape culture.
They didn’t know it would comfort, entertain, and inspire generations.
They just used their voice.
And that’s what stands out to me.
Every popular sitcom.
Every legendary album.
Every timeless character.
It started with someone brave enough to say:
“This matters.”
“My perspective matters.”
“My creativity matters.”
Even if it wasn’t for everyone…
It was for someone.
And now I realize something.
As an author, I did the exact same thing.
I took my experiences.
My thoughts.
My truth.
My perspective.
And I released it into the world.
That takes courage.
Especially when your story isn’t predictable.
Especially when you talk about real issues.
Especially when some people feel uncomfortable.
But impact has never required universal approval.
It requires authenticity.
Somewhere, someone will read my words and feel seen.
Somewhere, someone will feel less alone.
Somewhere, someone will understand something differently because I chose not to stay silent.
Legacy doesn’t always look loud at first.
Sometimes it starts as a quiet decision:
“I’m going to share this anyway.”
The people before me trusted their voice.
And now I can confidently say:
I trusted mine too.
Amen. ✨🌍
