Racial profiling and stereotyping in teen church plays: I remember in a church play I was in as a teen, it was all black teens & one black girl portrayed a character who had a abortion, now while abortion is a real scenario, it’s just ironic that a young black girl (who was darker skinned) had to play this character, it reinforces the stereotype that young black girls are sexually reckless and likely to get pregnant young/have a unplanned pregnancy! Which isn’t inherently true! These stereotypes must stop! Why do black girls and women always have to play struggling characters on stage and in film? Hmm 🤔
