Watching Life-Size really hit me as an author. Tyra, the Barbie doll, refused to limit herself to what everyone else expected. She refused to stay in the box and live a life that wasn’t truly hers. That hit me hard because it’s exactly what I’ve felt as a writer — the pressure to fit a mold, to follow the rules, to write what others think is “acceptable.” But like Tyra, I’m choosing to step into real life, to embrace my voice, and to create without shrinking myself to fit someone else’s expectations. Life isn’t about being perfect on display — it’s about being fully alive, fully seen, fully me. Just like Tyra refused to be fake/plastic, so do I!!! She was more accepted by being real!
