One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is this: surround yourself with people who aren’t secretly—or publicly—jealous of your success.

I know for sure that one person in my life fits this perfectly: my co-author. During the entire process of writing my book, she was unwaveringly supportive. Even after the book was done, she continued to cheer me on. When we filmed a promo video together, she was even more excited than me! 🤩 That’s the kind of energy only a true friend or family member brings—someone who celebrates YOU without hesitation.

Her support didn’t stop there. For my birthday, she surprised me with not one, but two outfits! Completely unexpected. Honestly, many of my own blood relatives have never given me a birthday gift. Moments like these are a powerful reminder: true friends and family invest in you. They celebrate your dreams, your wins, and your growth, sometimes more than you do yourself.

It’s a simple but profound rule: build relationships with people who want to invest in your dreams, who want to spend time and resources on you, not the other way around. Life is too short to carry people who drain you with jealousy, competition, or subtle resentment.

Surround yourself with the people who lift you, cheer for you, and celebrate your every milestone. They’re the ones who make your journey not just bearable, but joyful. And sometimes, they even make it magical. Amen to that! 🙏✨
