Overdue and Ready: It’s Time for Your “Baby” to Come Out

  • Posted on January 21, 2026

Just like in the natural, when a pregnant woman goes past her due date, doctors intervene to induce labor. Carrying a baby too long can become dangerous — the risk rises the further past the due date she goes.

Spiritually, many of us are overdue as well. God has been growing something inside of us — a gift, a calling, a dream, a purpose. And some of us have been carrying it far longer than we realized. Some of us are 40 weeks past due… some 50, 60, even 100 weeks.

It’s time for that “baby” to come out.

Being overdue doesn’t mean what’s inside isn’t ready — it means it’s urgent. God has done the gestation work. The preparation, the growth, the shaping — all of it is complete. But carrying it forever without release can be dangerous. It can weigh us down, steal our joy, or keep the world from receiving what God intended to share through us.

Just as a doctor must act, God may be prompting you to take steps you’ve been delaying. It might be starting that project, sharing your gift, stepping into a ministry, or speaking that word of encouragement you’ve been holding back. The labor pains of change can feel uncomfortable, but the result will bring life — to you and to those around you.

Your season of preparation is over. Your time of waiting has matured into a season of action. The vision, the calling, the gift inside you is ready to be birthed.

Don’t delay any longer. Let your “baby” come out. The world is ready for what God has been growing in you.
