Right on Time: Purpose Isn’t Limited by Age
- Posted on January 20, 2026
Funny enough, I always imagined I’d write and publish my first book much later in life — maybe in my 40s or 50s. In my mind, I thought I needed to “experience more life” before I could truly say something meaningful. I believed wisdom came strictly with age, and that my story needed more years attached to it before it would be worth telling.
Yet I became a published author at age 32.
And that alone has taught me something powerful: God isn’t limited by age.
We often think purpose has a timeline. We tell ourselves we’re “too young” to be used or “too old” to begin. But God doesn’t operate by our personal deadlines or society’s expectations. He doesn’t wait until we feel perfectly prepared. He moves when the heart is ready.
What made this realization even more meaningful to me is something I reflected on recently: many Christians believe Jesus completed His work on the cross around the age of 32 or 33. The Bible doesn’t give an exact number, but tradition tells us He began His ministry around 30 and fulfilled His mission a few years later.
That alone speaks volumes.
It reminds me that impact isn’t measured by how long you’ve lived, but by how willing you are to walk in your calling. Jesus didn’t wait for old age to change the world. He moved when the time was right — when purpose met obedience.
And in my own small, human way, publishing this book at 32 is a personal confirmation of that same truth:
God doesn’t delay purpose. He activates it.
There’s nothing wrong with being older and stepping into your calling later in life — in fact, that can be just as beautiful and powerful. But what I’ve learned is this: we don’t need permission from time to be used by God.
If you feel the pull to create, to speak, to write, to build, to heal, or to lead — don’t wait for some imaginary future version of yourself. The version of you that exists right now may already be the one God is ready to use.
My book didn’t come from having a perfect life, a long life, or a polished life. It came from a willing life.
And that, to me, is the real message:
Purpose doesn’t ask how old you are. It asks if you’re ready to say yes. 🙏📖✨
