A Prayer for 2026
- Posted on January 15, 2026
God of Life,
We come against every spirit of despair, isolation, and self‑hatred that tells people they are better off gone. We reject the lie that says “you don’t matter” or “nothing will change.”
We pray for interruption—
Interrupt the moment someone believes ending their life is the answer.
Interrupt the silence with a phone call, a knock at the door, a memory, a pause, a tear that releases instead of consumes.
Cover minds that feel overwhelmed.
Calm nervous systems that are constantly in survival mode.
Bring rest to those who have been strong for too long.
We pray for divine protection over teenagers, young adults, parents, elders, and especially those whose pain has been ignored or minimized. We pray for people of color, for Black women and men, for marginalized communities who are often told—directly or indirectly—that their lives are disposable.
They are not.
Listen, there is still something unfinished inside you.
There are versions of you that haven’t existed yet.
There is relief you haven’t felt yet—even if you can’t imagine it.
Closing Declaration
2026 will not steal lives.
2026 will be a year of staying, healing, and being found.
We choose life.
We speak life.
We protect life.
Amen.
