16: The Age of Firsts 🎉

  • Posted on February 4, 2026

At 16, most of us are stepping into new experiences:

  • Maybe you’re a sophomore in high school, a little more independent than a freshman.
  • You might be getting your first driver’s license or your first car.
  • You may have your first date or be experiencing life in a brand-new way.

Sixteen is a transitional age — full of milestones that signal growth, responsibility, and some small steps toward adulthood.

For me there was a Call at 16, and it was Fulfilled 16 Years Later ✍🏽

God told to write my book when I was 16. 16 years later it was so! My book was a new milestone! Me becoming an author was a transition and a period of growth! Just as 16 marks a step into independence and new experiences, 16 years later, I stepped into purpose and fulfillment. Life’s milestones come in many forms, but God’s timing ensures they arrive when we’re truly ready.

Sometimes, the waiting feels long. Sometimes, the timing feels mysterious. But the beauty is in trusting the process — because what arrives in God’s perfect timing often surpasses what we imagined for ourselves. So here’s the funny part: I never had a sweet sixteen. No party. No cake. No dramatic photos in a poofy dress. Nada.

But guess what did get its sweet sixteen? My book—16 years in the making, finally being fulfilled. 🎉

Turns out, dreams don’t need candles or balloons. They just need patience, persistence, and a little bit of stubbornness. Sixteen years later, my book is living its best life… and honestly, that feels way sweeter than any teen party ever could.

Moral of the story: sometimes your milestones celebrate you, not the calendar. And sometimes your sweet sixteen shows up 16 years late—but oh, does it make an entrance.
